is looking for an experienced Lead Mechanical Assembler and Installer to head up our small assembly department and take the lead on the installation of complex conveyor solutions and packaging equipment for various automated packaging customers in the U.
S.
and Canada.

Responsibilities:
OVERTIME WILL BE REQUIRED AT TIMES to meet job deadlines.
The assembly lead will work with the shop foreman and production director to anticipate, plan, and implement OT needs within the department.
Travel will be required for this position since most installations are out-of-state.
Installation travel can eventually get up to 25% to 30%, but right now is about 15% and looks like 3-5 days of travel/installation every 4-6 weeks.
Travel includes hourly bonus pay, overtime, and per diem in addition to all company-paid travel.
Overtime will always be required on installations.
As assembly team lead, will work as an assembler alongside the assembly team and provide direction, support, and leadership to the team.
Will work with the shop foreman and production director to plan and direct workflow.
As installation lead, will install and directly oversee job installations and the installation team.
As assembly lead, will work alongside assembly peers and provide direction, support, and leadership to the floor.

Background & Experience Requirements:

years mechanical assembly and/or installation experience Prior conveyor and/or equipment assembly REQUIRED Experience leading a team Experience managing or overseeing processes Experience in manufacturing or construction industry preferred Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated skill and experience in assembly and installation of conveyor and/or plant equipment.
Experience working with stainless steel.
Advanced ability to read and interpret assembly blueprints and demonstrated competence in performing mechanical adjustments.
Ability to read tabulated blueprints is a major plus! Advanced mechanical and analytical skills with a high focus on organization, efficiency, and work area cleanliness.
High standards for quality of work dedication is a MUST! Demonstrated ability to work well and not buckle under pressure.
Advanced safety knowledge and safety leadership.

Must have a valid Illinois driver's license and clean driving record (for renting vehicles during travel).
Must be willing and able to travel, by plane and/or by car.
Must be able to cross Canadian border - have clean background check.

Must be dependable - have a good attendance record with prior employer(s).
Able to work within set deadlines yet, at the same time, be flexible enough to adapt and handle change.
