DIETARY MANAGER/SUPERVISOR JOB SUMMARY Under general supervision, serves meals to residents and performs sanitation duties in work areas.
Responsibilities include preparing and serving food, cleaning equipment utilized in the kitchen/dining areas, and cleaning the food service area while assuring resident safety.
Work is performed under the supervision of a Kitchen Manager, Kitchen Supervisors, and Cook.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Regular, punctual, and predictable attendance is required Assist in the preparation of food for cooking Prepare and portion designated foods and beverages, including, but not limited to, coffee, salads, and desserts, according to instructions Operate various kitchen appliances, including, but not limited to, steam table, coffee urns, buffet equipment, and dishwasher Perform sanitation activities in all areas associated with the Dietary Department which included, but are not limited to, cleaning and preparing serving areas, utensils and dishes, sweeping and mopping kitchen area floors, disposing of trash, and performing other sanitation activities as directed by Management Ensure that all residents are and will continue to receive care that reflects the goals and principles of resident-centered care.
Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS High School diploma or equivalent.
Six months or more experience preferred.
On the job training provided Must be a minimum of 18 years of age KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition Must be able to sit, stand, lift, and move intermittently throughout the workday Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with the residents and personnel Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people within the facility Must be able to lift, push, pull and remove equipment, supplies etc.
