Your daily responsibilities include
Summary:
Perform functions to calculate, balance, reconcile and journalize various ledger accounts to assist in the preparation of financial statements and summarizing financial results.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:Primarily responsible for the administration of accounting items related to the general ledger. Exercise discretion and independent judgement within the financial accountant functions, including:
Prepare and review journal entries for the month end close process related, but not limited to the following accounts: cash, inventories, fixed assets, prepaid assets, receivables, payroll and payroll related, accrued liabilities and intercompany activity Prepare account reconciliation for same accounts, thoroughly investigating and resolving any account variances as part of the month end close process in preparation of financial statements. Monitor cash account by reviewing daily bank activity and analyzing cash needs Monitor fixed assets account by summarizing monthly capital expenditures, updating fixed asset detail ledger (GAPP and tax), and roll forward activity monthly. Communicate with department managers regularly to identify potential asset disposals as well as recent assets to be placed into service. Monitor fixed assets account by calculating additions, disposals, retirements, trade-ins and depreciation (GAAP and tax). Review Accounts Payable detail for proper general ledger coding as well as identifying related items for accruals at month end and transactions reportable on form 1099. Perform audit of invoice detail to ensure proper sales and use tax remittance. Review daily audit of Food & Beverage and Hotel transactions performed by Accounting Clerks to ensure accuracy of journal entry associated with these transactions. Maintain database for prize winnings reportable on form 1099 at year end. Remit income tax and child support withholdings on gambling winnings on a daily basis Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns for sales and use taxes, payroll taxes, and income tax withholdings on gambling winnings. Maintain documentation and report month end findings to the appropriate persons in management Maintain compliance with the Illinois Gaming Board rules, Standards, and the company's System of Internal Controls and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements Promote and lead in the Red Carpet Service initiatives to external and internal guests that perpetuate Hollywood Casino's commitment towards quality guest service. Other duties as assigned
To be successful in this position it will require the following skill set
EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
Broad knowledge of the accounting function. Must have equivalent of a complete college or university education in Finance or Accounting. Strong computer skills preferred in the following networked PC's and AS400, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Infinium. Advanced EXCEL spreadsheet skills essential.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
