As an Optimization Engineer you will be part of a team of dedicated engineering professionals that provides all aspects of chemical engineering design, optimization and troubleshooting services to the Joliet Chemical Plant. This opportunity lends itself to career growth not only at this site, but advancement at other FHR locations.
A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
Conduct performance monitoring and analysis of various equipment types (columns, heat exchangers, reactors, crystallizers, etc.)
Develop and implement process improvement plans
Work as a member of cross-functional teams to maximize site profitability
Troubleshoot operational problems
Develop material and energy balances
Complete process designs to improve profitability as well as safety and environmental performance
Identify opportunities for improving the chemical processes utilizing sound chemical engineering principles
Provide oversight of process operations to meet safety, environmental, and production goals
Complete process related economic evaluations
What You Will Need:
Basic
Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years of process engineering experience in a chemical, refining, or industrial manufacturing company.
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering

Physical Requirements:
Physical ability to work around and on industrial equipment, including frequent climbing of stairs and ladders
Willingness to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances
Ability to wear personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (FRC, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, full face respirator, heeled boots and hearing protection)
