The Caterpillar Joliet facility is seeking additional skilledproduction team members. Through Caterpillar's recent restructuring andconsolidation efforts, the Joliet facility is transitioning current productionwork to another existing Caterpillar facility. Additional team members arebeing sought in Joliet to ensure a timely and high quality product ramp down.

Summary:
We are currently seeking Assembly TestSpecialists. You will perform a series of routing functions to assemble machinecomponents.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Assembling / testing, reworking and repairingmachine components
Performing production based on schedule andcontinuously improving process efficiency
Ensuring adherence to Standard Work Sheet toachieve quality products and avoid quality issues
Participating in pre-shift Process ImprovementDialogue (PID) & Continuous Improvement (CI), raising, submitting issuesand suggestions and following up requirements from supervisor
Providing timely reports to operation supervisoror team lead on material availability and equipment downtime
Identifying specification gaps and root causesand making adjustments to meet engineering test specifications
PhysicalQualifications (With or Without Accommodation)
Operate equipment including forklift, HandJack/pallet truck
Noise levels of 85db or greater
Operate overhead cranes, jib cranes and hoists
Lift up to 18lbs frequently
Work at multiple heights
Climb on equipment, machines, ladders andvarious step stools
Stand for a minimum of 8 hour shifts withminimal breaks
Work various shifts and workday schedulesincluding nights and weekends
Work in environment with frequently changingtemperatures and all weather conditions
Exposure to magnets that may impact medicaldevices
Kneel, squat, and crawl on knees
Work in awkward positions, including forwardreach, lateral reach, squat, overhead reaching, twisting and forward head androtation of neck.
Work in tight spaces
Repetitive grasping, pushing, pulling rotating
Use of fine motor skills
Use of hand tools
Required Personal Protective Equipment: hearingprotection, safety glasses, steel toed/metatarsal foot gear, and protectiveclothing and equipment including shock resistant gloves, fall restraintharnesses, jackets, chaps, helmet, grinding shield, cut/heat resistant sleeves,etc.
Computer skills to access Cat Intranet
Ability to read prints and use gauges forQuality Inspection
Required Qualifications:
1 year experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
Qualifications:
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Strong commitment to safety
Must be able to work any shift / schedule as shifts / working hours will change with business needs.
